#24HourWritingChallenge Week 4 — Writing about the Underworld

Armand Rosamallia and April Hawks have declared a #24HourWritingChallenge for Thursday. Sometimes they are just joking, I get started, and they pull the football away from me like their Lucy to my Charlie Brown.

dead open mouth

Regardless, Thursday we will write as much as we can for as long as we can. Editing will be left for the survivors. We can stop for life, kids, food, putting out fires, etc. But for a 24 hour period, we write with every moment we are able. I have doctor’s appointment Thursday afternoon, but I’ll be writing before an after. It will be a good experiment to directly measure how writing affects my health.

I’ll be working on my Underworld story which was my focus for Thursday anyway. I’m almost 6000 words into the novella and will be pushing hard on it Thursday and Friday this week. This challenge will serve that purpose well.

I’ll keep you posted as I go along. Tell the world I was a writer and that my work grew on you like a taste for olives or an appreciation for abstract art.

I topped out at 6300 words for the day. I’ll be working on the Underworld story again Friday. I’m hoping to have most of it done by the time the submission window for it opens at the end of January so that I can be an early entry on this one.
