The final thing that is supposed to ruin our society. The bringer of the end of the world is the Zombie Apocalypse, or so I’ve been told. There are many kinds of zombies: slow moving, fast moving, talking or rotting zombies, zombies of all varieties. We all tend to describe the things that scare us the most, so we have a very different range of zombies and their abilities.
How do the zombies really get here? What makes a zombie? I keep asking these questions and get many different answers. Last week on a routine doctor visit, they asked, “Do you want a Flu shot? My sarcastic answer was, “Uh, no. That’s how the Zombie Virus is spread.” The nurse did give me a look, but went on with her job. Most of the time zombies get started because of a virus or testing that goes wrong. Like any virus, it can spread through touch or can be airborne. Most of the time viruses can be contained, but since many agree that biting is the way the virus is transferred, it would be hard to contain the spread of this epidemic.
What is the appeal of zombies? I personally hate zombies. They are gross and icky. Have you seen a zombie? I mean they are flesh and guts and ewwww. What I really like about the zombie world is that it allows readers and writers to explore mankind at their complete worst moments of survival. People’s real thoughts and emotions can be discovered when faced with the extinction of human kind.
The Zombie Apocalypse may never happen, but I hope to uncover all of the possibilities that zombie can bring to our world.
