Are You Ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

by Alathia Paris Morgan

Are you ready for a Zombie Apocalypse? We all talk about what we would do if it happened, but are we really prepared? I mean to be honest how many of us actually take precautions for hurricanes, fires, or even floods? In high risk areas for these natural disasters, there are lists of things you can do to prepare for the eventual happening of the worst day of your life. How likely are we to see zombies walking around and do we need to be ready for it to happen? While some characterize zombies as science fiction, it could happen and when doing question and answer sessions people always ask me, “Do you have a zombie plan?”

So here’s the answer: 1st and the most important thing to me would be my kids and where were they? I would want to make sure I found them before the world went crazy.  2nd since I live in a rural area and the best action plan would be to stock up and if possible wait out the stupid people. (There are always stupid people.) There are lots of farms near me, so the easiest thing would be to find out which of my friend’s houses have fresh well water and are situated as far off the beaten path as possible.

3rd in case I couldn’t go anywhere like that, since I live across the street from a school building which has a pretty strong structure and could easily be fortified, I would make it my home base. Plus, while the cafeteria’s food isn’t the best in the world, they keep it stocked to feed at least 300-400 kids every week. That much food would last my family a while and keep us off the radar until things had settled down a little bit.

If you want to find out more about my zombie plan and other ways survive during an end of the world situation then read my Against Zombie series as I try out ideas. Here’s hoping for the best. Be on the lookout for Coeds Against Zombies too! Available for pre order now!
