Before Sleeping Beauties #StephenKingRevisited

The plan is to reread all of Stephen King’s works in the order that they were published. Richard Chizmar of Cemetery Dance had the vision. I’m doing it because I am a writer and I want to improve my fiction. And I love Stephen King’s stories. I think there is something to be learned through this process.

You can also go back to the beginning and read Before Carrie or any of my other posts up through this one and beyond by checking out this link to the Master List of all my #StephenKingRevisited posts.

I’m harder on Stephen King collaborations than I should be. Sleeping Beauties does get my attention though. There has not been a ton of hype around this book, as much as other works have commanded attention with recent adaptations.

This book has a mysterious quality to the teaser of the plot, and it leaves me wondering what King and his son achieved.

Owen King is an author I’ve been aware of for some time. His work deviates further from his father than his brother Joe Hill’s writing. I haven’t read either of King’s sons extensively. I’m interested to see what Owen’s influence brings to the storytelling being that he has written other genre from his father and brother.

I’m excited to read this one finally.

My next post in this series will be After Sleeping Beauties which will be linked on the Master List of all my Stephen King Revisited posts.
